What does IT do when an employee joins the company?

For All Employees

  1. From Microsoft Admin Center:
    • Create the user and assign the Microsoft 365 Business Premium license.
    • Add user to appropriate groups. All users should have access to the K Drive group, the location they belong to (Old Town group, for example) and their department group (Repair, for example).
  2. From Sharepoint:
    • Make sure they have access to appropriate sites. They should be automatically added to the sites from the groups assigned in step #1. If not, add them to the group manually.
  3. From Microsoft Exchange Admin Center:
    • Add the user to the All distribution list.
    • Add the user to other appropriate distribution list, if any.
  4. Set up password manager, if needed. (BITWARDEN)
  5. Set up additional services needed for the user, such as Adobe, Shutterstock, etc.
  6. From BusinessMind (or any POS software we are using):
    • Add the user if needed. For BusinessMind, go to Admin > Manage BusinessMind Users > Manage BusinessMind Users and Admin > Manage BusinessMind Users > Manage BusinessMind Users Permissions.
  7. Add Company Calendar on Outlook.
  8. Ask HR to add the new hire to Business Mind as a contact.
