How To Reset Cold Fusion 9 Admin Password

Scope & Purposes

This document will detail the steps in resetting Cold Fusion 9 admin password. We have intranet.leohamel.com and estate.leohamel.com that are still using Cold Fusion 9.

Steps

  1. Open the file located at C:\ColdFusion9\Lib\password.properties. Path may be different, but just look for the password.properties file.
  2. Make the following changes:
    #date/time rds
    password=TYPEYOURNEW-TEMPORARY-PASSWORDHERE
    encrypted=FALSE
  3. Save the file.
  4. Restart the ColdFusion Application Service.
