Scope
This document will detail the steps in attempt to fix the connection error when trying to connect to a VM on VMWare Work Station Pro even though we can connect to the same VM via the web interface.
Steps
Add the following to the preferences file:
pref.preferWebMKS = "FALSE"
pref.preferWebRemoteDevice = "FALSE"Below are the preferences location for different systems:
- Windows:
%APPDATA%\VMware\preferences.ini - macOS (standard install):
~/Library/Preferences/VMware Remote Console/preferences - macOS (App Store install):
~/Library/Containers/com.vmware.vmrc/Data/Library/Preferences/VMware Remote Console/preferences - Linux:
